Chapter 19: The Search in the Valley of Snow
Kurutaru & Soulamaru were separated from their friends during a blizzard. They came across the frozen remains which resurrected taking the form of Asura, the Demigod of Wrath & Cragster Master they were searching for.
It was now morning. The blizzard had stopped & you could see outside much more clearly. I was asleep but I felt something breathing in my face. “Mmmm….Stop that…that tickles…” I answered as I felt a tickling sensation on my cheek & my shoulder. The sensation on my cheek was wet while the other was a bit cold & metallic. Then I realized something. Soulamaru wouldn’t lick me even if he could & I’m dead sure Asura wouldn’t do it either & I was also dead sure that the sensation on my shoulder is from golden & stone relic hands. I opened my eyes to see the culprits.
What licked me was a 3 ft tall blue & light blue underbelly lizard like beasts with blue eyes, sharp fangs, blue talons, short little arms, & 2 big purple fan like frills on the side of its face & the one responsible for messing with my shoulder was a 7 ft tall dark blue gray & gold streak & runed humanoid like robot with a black visor on its face & blue dot lights for eyes, silver metal rabbit ears on its head, a slightly skinny frame body, silver blades on the side of its arms, 5 silver fingered hands, 3 toe rabbit robotic feet, strange compartments on the bottom & side of its feet also on its back too & the letters spelling Tetheral in faded orange bold letters on its chest. “Holy crap!!” I shouted surprised accidently scaring Soulamaru awake as he headbutted Asura in the face who also woke up from letting him go off the both of us but also causing the 2 to run back to a wall as the three of us got up.
“What is those things?” Asura asked as he looked ready to attack but I stopped him. “Wait! Look! They aren’t attacking us. I think they are scared.” I explained as the 2 noticed how the robot & dragon were shaking & cowering near the wall. “Mother Kurutaru’s right, I mean look at how they are reacting to us.” Soulamaru answered as Asura stood down. The two looked at us. “Sh…It’s okay. You can over here. We won’t hurt you.” I said in a calming & heart-warming voice. The two stopped cowering & looked at us mainly me. I looked at Soulamaru before he went down & reached out his hand towards them like what I was doing. “Come here. We won’t hurt you. I promise.” Soulamaru answered. The two slowly began to walk towards us. The robot placed its hand on my palm with little hesitation while Soulamaru petted the dragon. “I’m glad you two aren’t scared anymore. My name is Kurutaru, Kurutaru.” I answered as I pointed to myself. “K…Kurutaru?” The robot asked in a teenage boy’s voice. “Whoa! He said your name! Can you say my name? It’s Soulamaru. Soulamaru.” Soulamaru asked. “Soulamaru.” The robot answered. “Cool! Now say Asura. Asura.” Soulamaru said pointing at Asura. “Asura!” The robot shouted. “It seems more like a child than a machine.” Asura answered.
“You’re right. I guess you can count these two as infants. They should deserve names.” I explained. “Yeah! Let’s name them!” Soulamaru shouted. I looked at the robot first. “I’ll call you Tamashi, it means Soul in Japanese. Tamashi Senshi Harashama. Okay. You’re Tamashi now. Tamashi.” I explained. “Tamashi. Haha!” Tamashi laughed happily. Then I looked at the dragon. “And I’ll call you Hyotenka, which means Subzero in Japanese. How does that sound?” I asked the little dragon. “Rawr!” Hyotenka howled happily. “I’m glad you’ve got that straightened out. Let’s find your friends as fast as we can. Something about this place isn’t right.” Asura explained. “You’re right Asura. Come on Tamashi & Hyotenka. We need to find our friends.” I answered. The two nodded in agreement. We exited the cave & into the snowy mountain range. It wasn’t snowing but it still felt very cold & the snow didn’t seem like it would melt either.
“Whoa. Look at all of this snow! I’m still surprise none of it has even melted for so long!” Soulamaru shouted amazed. Tamashi seemed pretty amazed to as he was moving his hand through the snow feeling its cold touch while Hyotenka seemed perfectly comfortable in the surroundings. “Pretty amazing isn’t it Tamashi?” I asked. “It’s pretty.” Tamashi answered. “I know. Life can be very beautiful as well as nature.” I explained as Tamashi got up. “So pretty.” Tamashi answered looking at me. I was thinking whether he meant me or the surroundings but I didn’t seem to mind either one. “Come on Tamashi. Let’s go find our friends. They’ll be surprised to meet you.” I answered. “Friends…” Tamashi answered as the 5 of us headed off in search of the others. We were walking for a while but still haven’t sign of our friends yet. “Hey Mother Kurutaru, why don’t you use your special Eyes of the Dragon King thing? Maybe we can find everyone much easier that way.” Soulamaru asked. “Eyes of the Dragon King? What’s he talking about?” Asura asked. “It’s a special ocular power that I have. It allows me to see things that normal people can’t see. Maybe it can help us.” I answered as I was about to close my eyes when we heard a huge explosion coming from the behind us. “What the?!” Soulamaru asked. “Explosion!” Tamashi shouted. “Come on everyone! Head to the scene of that explosion!” Soulamaru shouted. “Wait!” Asura shouted as they stopped. “What is it?” I asked.
“I sense something powerful there. Soulamaru won’t be able to last long in a fight. He’ll just be dead weight.” Asura answered. “You’re right rudely. We need to bulk you up Soulamaru.” I stated. “Yeah but with what? The relics are back at Sacred Dragoon.” Soulamaru answered. I then noticed the icicles to the side of us. “How about with those icicles? I mean they are about your size. You can try bulking up with those.” I explained as I pointed to the icicles. “I don’t know if it’ll work but let’s try.” Soulamaru answered as he approached the icicles. Soulamaru began to focus as the ground began to shake slightly then the icicles began to fly into the air. The icicles merged with Soulamaru’s body causing his normal relics to move further away from his chest orb while the ice took the shape of spiky skeletal limbs & claws & blades on his body but could still see his relics, 5 icicles appeared underneath his chest, icicles moved onto his head giving him spiky ice hair & he grew til he was about Asura’s height & his stone relics cover faded to a lighter color. “!” Asura thought as Soulamaru completed his bulk up. “Ooh! I’m getting chills! This will definitely work!” Soulamaru answered with a slightly adult voice. “Cool!” Tamashi shouted. “Come on guys let’s go!” I shouted as we headed towards the scene of the explosion.
We arrived to the scene to see a bunch of huge 10 ft tall crystal golem like creatures with ice spike shoulders & backs, red crystal claws, glowing yellow eyes, sharp fangs & hook like crystal tails, dark gray fur(Snolem(Dargeddons) & white 6 ft yeti like creatures with black claws, red eyes, two extra arms, & ice spikes on their backs(Frosti(Dargeddons) attacking Jak, Daxter, Chrom, Torts, Glomp, & Bronze Fang. “Leave our friends alone Snolems & Frostis!” I shouted getting their attention. “Kurutaru! Soulamaru! But who are those three?!” Daxter asked. “Who cares! Come & help us!” Jak shouted. The Snolems began to fire their crystal fingers straight at us but we immediately jumped out of the way but Asura charged forward with incredible speed. For those who don't know, Asura is a brawler like fighter. He mainly fights with his fists channeling his attacks with Wrath Mantra allowing him to deliver heavy & powerful blows along with firing energy blasts from long distances & power himself up by releasing his Mantra Reactor.
“Fist of Rage!!!” Asura shouted as fierce red energy enveloped his fist as he delivered a extremely powerful punch to a Snolem causing it to explode in a burst of red energy. “Whoa! That’s some punch!” Daxter shouted. “Let’s help out too Daxter! It’s time for a little Scatter Shot action!” Jak shouted as his gun transformed into a short black & red rune shot gun with a wide barrel as he fired a huge red burst shot from his gun taking out two Frostis in one blow. “Acid Rocket!!” Glomp shouted as he fired a huge geyser of acid slime from his nose at two Snolems melting them into nothing while disgusting Asura. Two Snolems then charged at Tamashi who jumped high into the air dodging the attack before looking at me & Chrom. “Downward Thrust!” I shouted as I brought my sword down on a Snolem cutting it into two while burying my sword into the snow. “Sonic Piercer!” Chrom shouted as he did a quick dash while impaling a Snolem with his sword as it shattered to pieces. “Crushing Thrust!” Tamashi shouted as he came crashing down & punched his fist through a Snolem below him crushing it with incredible speed & power. “Sonic Punch!!” Tamashi shouted as he did a supersonic dash before putting his fist through a Snolem at supersonic speed as it crumbled into pieces. (He copied that man & Kurutaru’s attack. What is he?) Asura thought. “Rawr!” Hyotenka howled as he bit down on a Snolem’s head crushing it with his fangs.
There were only 3 Snolems & 6 Frostis left to face.“Ooze Punch!!” Torts shouted as he fired lashed out his slimy arms into two Frostis crushing them until they scattered into darkness. “Ice Relic Storm!!” Soulamaru shouted as his body shattered before taking the form of a stone, gold & ice tornado that sucked in 2 Frostis ripping them apart before he took his humanoid shape again. “Earth’s Spire!” Bronze Fang howled as a huge rock spike erupted from underneath a Snolem causing it to shatter to pieces. “Golden Fire Dragon’s Roar!!” I howled as I let out a huge golden fiery breath from my mouth. “Tenken’s Fury!!” Asura shouted as he unleashed a barrage of red energy fists from his punches. Both of our attacks rained down on the remaining Frostis & Snolems destroying them with incredible power. “Are you guys okay?” I asked as we approached them while putting down our weapons. “We’re fine. Will you introduce us to your strange friends here?” Chrom asked.
“This is Asura, Demigod of Wrath & the Cragster, Hyotenka & Tamashi Senshi Harashama. We’ve found them in a cave frozen in ice. You guys this Jak, the Spikels Master & Daxter his partner in crime, Chrom, the Glorp Corp Master & his Mixel Partners Torts & Glomp.” I introduced. “Hello friends! Nice to meet friends of Mother Kurutaru!” Tamashi shouted. “Hahaha! Oh this is rich! The robot thinks he’s Kurutaru’s son! Hahaha!” Daxter laughed. “Is that what he is? This “robot”?” Chrom asked. “I forgot you’re from the country.” Daxter answered. “You’re rude Daxter!” Torts shouted as he slapped Daxter with his slimy hands. “Ow & eew!” Daxter shouted as he rubbed the green slime from Torts’ hands off his cheeks while Jak snickered. “You knew that was coming rodent.” Asura stated. “Aw shut up!” Daxter shouted annoyed. “Where are the others?” I asked. “We were searching for you guys but we also got separated from everybody else too. We also found something very unbelievable in the ice from that cave over there. You should check it out. I think you’re friend might know what it is.” Chrom explained. “Okay. Lead the way then.” I answered as we followed them to the cave. We entered to see a huge wall of ice in the back but something was sticking out of it as well. This time it was a hand just like before.
“Someone’s frozen in that ice &…I think they are alive.” I stated as I approached the hand. Asura then noticed something in the ice. “Wait!” Asura shouted but I had already placed my hand on the frozen hand. The moment I did it glowed & began to move before exploding in a blast of orange energy. “AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!” A slightly ruff & slightly crazy adult male voice shouted from the wreckage of ice getting our attention. Standing before us was a 10 ft tall tan buff man with red spiral wave like runes covering his body, white hair like Asura sticking from the top & side of his face, a white beard & glowing white eyes wearing a black fingerless gloves, gray & black with silver ribbon baggy pants & a sword in a gold & bronze hilt that was 2 times the size of waist attached to his sash. “Um…WHO THE HECK IS THAT?!!!!!” Daxter screamed completely scared. “Ahahaha! Augus has come back from the dead! Who is the one who resurrected me?!” Augus laughed. “I…did. My name is Kurutaru Harashama.” I answered as he looked at me. “My my! Such a beautiful young girl standing before me! So you are the one who resurrected me, Kurutaru? Thank you very much! My name is Augus, Demigod of Greed! Now I must be off! I sense something powerful close by! It might be another Demigod or something much more fun to fight against!” Augus shouted as he took off out of the cave with incredible speed. “Um, what just happened? Who was that guy?” Glomp asked.
“That was Augus, Demigod of Greed & my former Master. We were on opposite sides & I killed him for hurting my daughter but how did he get here?” Asura asked. “I don’t know but maybe he can lead us to the others.” I answered. “Then we better follow him.” Jak answered. “But how? That dude just ran off at the speed of sound. How are we able to keep up with that?” Daxter asked. “Let’s try a Mixel Force. Maybe if we do that we’ll be fast enough to catch up to him.” I explained. “But can Jak do a Mixel Force with a Mixel who isn’t part of his tribe?” Daxter asked. “Yes he can. The Mix will be a bit strange for him but it’ll work out.” Bronze Fang answered. “Then let’s do it! You with me Torts?” Jak asked. “You bet ya!” Torts shouted as he took out a Glorp Corp Cubit. “Ready Bronze Fang?” I asked. “You bet!” Bronze Fang howled as I took out the Sacred Swords Cubit. “Let’s do it together Glomp.” Chrom said taking out a Glorp Corp Cubit. “I don’t know what your up to but you better do it.” Asura stated. “MIX!!” The 6 of us shouted as we touched the cubits & become spheres of gold, bronze, tan & green energy before merging with our partners.
Jak’s skin turned green & slightly scaly, his nose became a green beak like Torts, two dark green antennas similar to Torts came out of his forehead, his teeth became sharp fangs, a dark green armor turtle shell appeared on his back, his hands were enveloped in huge green slime arms & hands as a huge green slime hand appeared on his back side, his feet became boot like similar to Torts, his muscular density slightly increased as he was twice his size & his clothes became dark green & green poison patterned bodysuit with dark green armor pads, Chrom’s skin turned green while his hair turned dark green, green nose like things similar to Glomp’s nose appeared on his wrists & ankles & side of his legs, two of the things also appeared on his back with green slime coming from them in the shape of wings, his clothes turned into green & dark green body suit like thin armor & his muscular density slightly increased while he became 10 ft tall & my skin turned slightly darker, my teeth became bronze sharp fangs, my nails became bronze claws, my ears became cat like with gold tips, my hair became long & wild while patches were around my wrists & covered part of my body, I grew a brown & gold runed tail with a bronze mace similar to Bronze Fang’s, my eyes turned red & animal like, my feet became beast like, my clothes turned into bronze & gold armor chest plate & skirt & I grew until I was 8 ft tall. “Jarts, Glorp Corp Slime Enforcer!” Jarts shouted as Jak’s & Torts Mixel Force was finished. “Glorom, Glorp Corp Ooze Swordsman!” Glorom shouted as Chrom’s & Glomp’s Mixel Force was completed. “Fangcara, Bronze Empress of Land!” I shouted as my Mixel Force with Bronze Fang was complete.
“Bronze Fang was right about the Mixoni being strange but he didn’t say it was downright nasty for Jak. I mean look at all of that green ooze covering his arms & he’s got a tail made out of it!” Daxter shouted. “Aw shut up & get on my shoulder Daxter before I melt you!” Jarts shouted scaring Daxter. “It also looks like it made him a bit psycho too.” Soulamaru deadpanned. “Jarts looks strange.” Tamashi answered as Daxter leapt onto Jart’s shoulder. “Let’s get a move on! Ahahaha! I want to see what the big hubbub is about! Yayayay!” Jarts laughed as he had a crazed look on his face while we all sweatdropped. “Okay crazy.” Glorom deadpanned. So we all immediately took off after Augus heading deeper into the Bermuda Glaciers. We were running at incredible speed when Augus came into view. “There’s Augus!” I shouted. “I think I know what he sensed! Look!” Soulamaru shouted pointing in front of us.
We looked to see our friends coming into view but they were being attacked by a 300 ft gray brown bull or minotaur like creature with 3 eyes, 2 long black curved bull horns, hippopotamus mouth & teeth, brown rimmed blue dragon wings, a slightly humanoid structure, black hoove like hands & feet & a long tail with a brush bush of fur at the end similar to that of a lion’s & there was a Darcystal on its head. “What’s that?!” Daxter screamed. “I don’t know what it is but our friends need our help!” I shouted. Augus leaped towards the giant monster & delivered a powerful orange yellow punch to it sending it flying back hard while we made it to the scene. “Kurutaru! Jak! Chrom! It’s good to see you guys okay!” Kurutaru shouted. “Whose your friends though!?” Yarne asked surprised. “What’s going on here? What is that thing?!” I asked. “That’s another Legendary Giant Monster, this one is called Bjorn. This giant is known for its incredible stamina & strength & dwells in subzero temperatures.” Golden Claw explained. “That doesn’t sound food for us.” Daxter answered.
“Then it’s time to fight giants with Giants! Time to summon Wormonger!” I shouted as the mark on my arm began to glow while the friends got back. “King of the Giants hear my call! Summon the giant of the Dense Jungle to my aid! Let this mighty beast that dwells beneath the earth be unleashed! Heed my call & unleash its power! I summon Wormonger!” I shouted as a huge green array appeared around the battlefield as the ground began to shake. A green vortex emerged on the ground as Wormonger came flying out of it from underneath me & emerged as I stood on top of his head while the array & vortex vanished. “OOOOOH YEAAAAH!!!! WORMONGER IS HERE PEEPS!!!” Wormonger shouted. “The heck?” Asura deadpanned. “Good to see you in high spirits Wormonger but we need your help. Another one of your giant brethren has been corrupted by a Darcrystal. We need your help to shatter it!” I explained. “Understood Fangcara! I’m going buck wild on Bjorn, peeps!” Wormonger howled. Bjorn got up & wasn’t happy about Augus’s attack as it roared at us. “You want a fight?! Then you got it!! Yayayayay!!” Jarts laughed insanely. “Charge!!!” I shouted as we headed straight towards Bjorn at full speed. “Earth Dragon’s Claw!!” I shouted as sharp & hard rock claws enveloped my hands as I jumped off of Wormonger’s head & delivered a powerful slash to Bjorn’s face knocking it back a bit.
“Rage Blast” Asura shouted as he fired a huge red energy beam from his hands at Bjorn blasting it with incredible power. “Poison Bite, baby!!” Wormonger howled as purple energy enveloped his fangs as he bit into Bjorn’s shoulder hard & didn’t let go no matter how many times Bjorn attacked Wormonger. “Don’t lose focus on me!! Greed Uppercut!!” Augus shouted as he jumped high into the air at the same time delivering a powerful orange energy uppercut to Bjorn sending it flying while Wormonger let go of him too. Bjorn recovered in midair & created a barrage of huge boulders from the sky & sending them straight towards us. “Yayayay! Have a taste of my Slime Bubble Shots!!!” Jarts laughed as he fired a barrage of huge green slime bubbles from his hands that traveled on supersonic speed. The slime bubbles captured all of the bubbles & held them still in the air. “Now for my turn! Slime Boom!” Glorom shouted as he flapped his wings together creating a huge gust & wave of green slime to come out of his wings at the same time. The attack sent the bubbles containing the boulders flying straight into Bjorn as it slammed into him knocking him out of the air & crashing into the ground hard. Bjorn got up from the attack & let out a loud roar before blasting us with an icy breath. “Tamashi dodge!” Tamashi shouted as he leaped high into the air avoiding the attack. “Tamashi Hammer Kick!” Tamashi shouted as he dove & delivered a powerful down kick to Bjorn’s head stopping his attack & doing serious damage to him while Tamashi jumped off of him quickly. “Nice shot Tamashi!” I shouted.
“Rage Thunder!” Asura shouted as he clapped his hands together unleashing a huge red energy shockwave from it that sent Bjorn flying. “Poison Breath!!” Wormonger howled as he let out a purple gas from his mouth straight at Bjorn. Bjorn immediately cringed from the horrible gas attack from Wormonger. “Now it’s my turn! Earth Dragon’s Mace!!” I shouted as sharp rocks enveloped my tail as I slammed it into Bjorn’s face knocking it back & into a mountain. “Yayayay! Acid Roar!!” Jarts howled as he fired a huge geyser of green acid from his mouth straight at Bjorn doing serious damage to it. “Poison Sword Slash!!” Glorom shouted as he fired a huge green sludge energy slash with a swipe of Ooze Falchion while slammed into Bjorn doing serious damage to it. Bjorn got up & began to charge at us with an attempt to ram us. “Ice Wall!” Soulamaru shouted as he created a huge ice wall in front of Bjorn but Bjorn shattered it with incredible power & still continued its charge despite taking damage. Augus was standing in front of Bjorn who continued its charge. “Greed Charge!!” Augus shouted as fierce orange energy enveloped him & charged towards Bjorn enveloped in a orange energy stream. Both of them collided with incredible power but Bjorn was sent flying by Augus’s incredible attack. “Time to end this my friends! Together!!” I shouted as I leaped into the air. “Got it, baby!” Wormonger shouted as he followed me as well along with Jarts, Asura, Augus & Glorom. “Earth Dragon’s Gaia Roar!!!” I howled as I fired a gigantic brown energy roar from my mouth straight at Bjorn. “Fury Slam!!” Asura shouted as fierce red energy enveloped him in the form of a giant red energy stream. “Poison Cannon!!!” Jarts shouted as he fired a gigantic geyser of green slime from his hands.
“Hyper Beam!!” Wormonger howled as he let out a gigantic dark purple energy beam from his mouth. “Poison Flight!!” Glorom shouted as huge green slime stream enveloped his entire body. “Greed Strike!!” Augus shouted as he fired a huge orange energy beam from his hands. Glorom flew into Jarts& Wormonger’s attack while Asura flew into Augus & mine attack before spiraling around each other created a gigantic dark purple, green, red, orange & brown linked energy streams. “Team Attack: Elemental Sacred Flight!!!” Glorom & Asura shouted as they slammed into Bjorn’s head straight into the Darcrystal causing it to explode & shatter into a million pieces while creating a huge explosion. We landed on the ground along with Bjorn shaking the ground a bit. Jarts, Glorom & I demixed from our partners while Soulamaru expelled the ice relics from his body returning to his normal size. “That was intense!” Daxter sighed. “Man, that was a rush…” Jak answered as he rubbed his head a bit. “Ahahahaha!!! That was a fun battle!! You guys are strong for non-demigods!!!” Augus laughed. “Are you okay Kurutaru?” Asura asked. “I’m fine Asura, just a little tired though.” I answered. “Okay can someone fill us in? I’m so confused right now.” Connie asked. So we explained everything to our friends & gave introductions. “Ouch…” A slightly deep male adult voice answered as we looked at the source. Bjorn had waken up & got on his feet. “Glad to see you back in your mind my peep, Bjorn!” Wormonger shouted. “Wormonger? How did you get here? Aren’t you supposed to be in Shadow Wood? You shouldn’t be neglecting your duties!” Bjorn explained. “Well, I came here to save from being possessed that Darcrystal with the help of my friends!” Wormonger answered.
“Is that so? Thank you for saving me then. Whose the one summon Wormonger?” Bjorn asked. “I did.” I answered getting Bjorn’s attention. “So you are the one who helped save me? Thank you for that. As a reward I’ll grant you & your angry friend the ability to summon me.” Bjorn answered as the symbol on my arm glowed showing Bjorn’s picture for a moment before vanishing while a Giant’s Mark appeared on Asura’s left side of his chest. “We’ll take our leave but check out that cave to my right. There is something powerful in there so watch out.” Bjorn explained before the two disappeared before us. “I wonder what’s in that cave. It’s time to see.” Hanji stated as we headed into the cave Bjorn told us about. It was like the others with a huge ice wall & a frozen hand sticking out of it. “Could this be another Demigod?” I asked. “It seems so. But it’s hard to tell who it is though.” Asura stated as I approached the hand. I placed my hand on the frozen hand. The frozen hand began to glow blue along with the ice as we heard a loud adult male voice echo through the cave.
The ice then exploded in a blast of blue energy before us. A black hair handsome & buff white man that was the size of Asura with gray eyes, his hair in a ponytail & strange white ruins on his body wearing a white scarf, a black open vest & black pants with a white sash & some silver armor on his feet. “It’s Yasha!” Asura shouted. “Yasha? You know him?” Erd asked. “Yes, he’s my brother in law. He’s the Demigod of Melancholy.” Asura answered. “Asura…Augus? Is that you? How are you both here? How am I here & who are they?” Yasha asked & by his panting you can tell he was a bit exhausted. “Kurutaru had somehow brought us back to life but I don’t know how we were found in that ice though. You need to live in the moment more!” Augus laughed. “Asura, there is something I must tell you & it’s very important.” Yasha stated. “What is it?” Asura asked. “Your daughter Mithra…is somewhere on this planet.” Yasha said surprising us all. “What?” Asura asked. Our heroes have discovered two more frozen Demigods Augus & Yasha after defeating Bjorn. But now Asura’s daughter Mithra has been revealed to be hidden somewhere on Earth & where is the Cragsters?
