Chapter 12: Nightmare & Cub

(Jak’s point of view)
I was in the darkness of my mind for the first time without my dark side haunting me. Where am I? I asked. Then all of a sudden a rush of visions emerged in my head. It was Geri screaming as she fell into the darkness of an abyss but also the shadow of her becoming a monster of darkness that I couldn’t see but only the pitch darkness of her eyes that faded from her sky blue eyes. The shock of images awakened me from my sleep but also left me a bad feeling. I had only my pants on & looked around my room with my clothes hanged up & a picture on the table lying next to my bed. It was the picture of me, Daxter & Geri. There was crack in the frame that ran across Geri which wasn’t there before. It was just a nightmare. I answered. But why do I feel like Geri is in trouble & I can feel it strongly. Daxter who was laying on me yawned as he got up. Can’t I get any sleep here? Daxter asked. Come on Daxter. I got bad feeling that Geri might be in danger. I answered as I got out of my bed.

After I put on my clothes Daxter & I rushed to the warehouse where Geri’s team was staying at. When we got in there was a scene. Everyone was searching the warehouse in a panic even Torn was there. Hey guys? What’s with the uproar? Daxter asked. Melody ran up to us & she looked like she was ready to cry. Melody? What’s going on? I asked. Jak! Something horrible happened! Melody yelled as she went into my arms & cried. I held her & tried to calm her down. What’s wrong? I asked. Geri! She’s…*sob* missing! Melody cried. What?! I shouted. Melody managed to pull it together as I let go of her. What do you mean she’s gone!? Daxter yelled. We woke up this morning & she wasn’t here. We looked all over the place & couldn’t find her. I have a bad feeling some bad happened to her. Melody explained. We would have known about it but Geri didn’t say anything about having nightmares. SonicAsura answered. What do you mean by having nightmares? Daxter answered. Geri’s dreams tells of future events. Her good dreams tell of good things to happen. Her nightmares tell about something horrible is going to happen. We might believe it is related to a nightmare. SonicAsura answered. Geri told me she had a nightmare yesterday. Seigen answered. !!! What?! And you didn’t tell us?! Everyone roared. Meanwhile in Haven Forest…

(Geri’s point of view)
I woke up in the middle of a deep part of Haven Forest near a lake but also in a huge crater. My body felt weird & I felt dark. My shoes were destroyed, my ponytail was broken & my armor was fractured but my dress was slightly torn as well. Ugh…My head hurts…I answered as I got up. Where am I? What happened to me? I asked. I looked at my reflection on the lake. My skin had some light blue tint mixed in it & my eyes were darker. What happened to me? I asked. Sudden flashes of memories of the Baron experimenting on me rushed for my mind as I fell down in pain. Urgh! I screamed in pain. The flashes stopped as I managed to get up. What did he do to me? I asked. I was thinking about it for a minute until something came flaring in the sky. I looked up & saw a huge fireball come falling down somewhere in the forest. !!! I thought. What was that?! Whatever it is I have to go check it out! I shouted. I quickly rushed over to the crash site.

I arrived in 10 minutes to see a 5 ft silver & gold pod of some kind in a big smoking crater but also an army of 50 Metal Head Grunts & 30 Metal Jackets surrounding the pod ready to destroy it. I was also sensing a presence of something living in the strange pod. Something young. HEY FREAKS!!!! I roared loudly as I got all of their attention. They growled at me. Are you ready for a fight?! I’ll show you what happens when someone pisses me off! I shouted. I was ready to strike when a huge surge of pain rushed through my body. URGH!!! I screamed as I fell to my knees. ??? The Metal Heads thought. I felt my body was beginning to change as a surge of dark power rushed my veins. What’s happening to me? I asked as my eyes turned black with white iris with a half black ring underneath.

My skin suddenly turned a slightly dark light blue, my muscular density increased 5 times its normal size, I began to grow as black dragon wings with silver bladed limbs grew out of my back along with a midnight blue dragon tail with a black spike ball at the end while black spikes came down my back & new tail, my dress tore more as my stomach showed, my arms were big as my nails became talons, my armor turned black & dark blue, my hair grew long until it reached my knees, I stopped growing until I was 60 ft tall & my teeth became sharp fangs as my swords merged to create a long black dragon like blade that was as long as my body. My transformation stopped as the Metal Heads stood there terrified ready to wet themselves in fear of the monster I had become.

I faced them with fury in my eyes. I’m going to rip you to shreds. I answered with fury. The Metal Heads began to flee but I was too fast. Dark lightning enveloped my claws as I slashed each of the Metal Heads to shreds & burned them alive in complete rage. DIE!!! ALL OF YOU!!! I roared in pure fury. In 5 minutes all of the Metal Heads were burned to death & I collected all of their Skull Gems. My fury vanished suddenly but I remained in my current form. I still felt rage within me & the feeling wouldn’t go away even by my curiosity of the pod in front of me. I approached the strange pod. I touched it with my finger then it began to come on. !! I thought as I immediately hid in the darkness of the trees so no one could see me. The pod opened as a mysterious figure came out. It was a young child but he was not normal.

It was a 3 ft 11 in strange yellow orange cat like person with brown striped ears, white slightly wavy hair, light blue eyes, a lion like tail, small claws, small fangs, light yellow fur on his chest & cat like feet. Hello? Is anyone there? The young boy asked as loud as he could. Where am I? He asked. He looked around & noticed one thing I forgot to hide. My huge footprints. Whoa. These are some huge footprints & they look fresh. Someone came here just a while ago. The boy explained. Please, if anyone is out there please come out. I’m scared, I don’t know what to do. I’m so alone. The boy answered. I was thinking in my head that should I talk to the kid or not but vicious instincts were in my head. I was thinking that he would be afraid of me & run but I was also thinking that I would end up losing control & harming him but my heart ended up deciding for me.

…Are you okay? I asked from the shadows. The boy turned in surprise. Hey? Is someone there? The boy asked. Yes. Don’t be afraid. I’m not here to hurt you. I’m just lost & alone like you. I answered. Then, can you please come out? The boy asked. I’m afraid. I answered. Afraid? The boy asked. Of how you react to my current appearance. I’m not how I used to be. I’m afraid you’ll be scared of me or I might end up accidentally harming you. I explained. I wasn’t this nervous or scared talking to an ugly thug or the craziest of criminals but something was making me afraid of that little boy for some reason & I didn’t know why. You don’t sound like a bad person. I don’t care what you look like but I can sense you have a good heart. Please come out & you won’t have to be lonely anymore. The boy answered. The boy was very kind & gentle. He reminded me of myself. …Okay. I answered. I walked out of the shadows of the trees & revealed myself.

Whoa. The boy said in astonishment. I stopped until I was in front of him showing the huge difference between our heights & size. I went down on my knees. Are you afraid? I asked. No. I’m surprised. You’re kind of buff & big for a girl. The boy answered. I felt like a boulder fell on my head. It’s not my fault that I got this way. I sighed. Sorry. What’s your name? The boy asked. My name is Geri Draco Akamishi. What is your name? I asked. I…don’t remember. I don’t have a name. The boy asked. You don’t have a name? Do you remember anything else? I asked. No. My memories are a blur. The boy answered. Then I’ll name you. I answered. Really? The boy asked. Yes. How about Raiden Akamishi?  I asked. Raiden? I love it! It sounds so cool! Thanks Geri! Raiden shouted. You’re welcome. I answered. I heard Raiden’s stomach growl. I guess I’m a bit hungry. Raiden sighed. Don’t worry. I’ll hunt for some food after you put these on. I answered as I gave Raiden some clothing that fits him. Raiden looked down & blushed. Raiden quickly ran into the bushes & changed.

5 minutes later Raiden came out. He was wearing a black & thunderbolt designed with no sleeves vest, black goggle like headband with a symbol of a beast on it, blue pants, black fingerless gloves, a silver ring on his tail & black decorated with 3 yellow lightning bolts & a gray stripe shoes. I like these new clothes! They feel comfortable & great! Especially these awesome goggles! Raiden shouted. I had a feeling those spare clothes would come in handy. Now come on Raiden. Let’s go find us something to eat. I answered. I picked up Raiden & put him on top of my head. I jumped into the air & grabbed onto one of the tree branches. I began to swinging across tree from tree at incredible speed & skill. Woo-hoo!! Raiden shouted in joy. I jumped into the air & flipped landing perfectly on my feet. Also landing near a big lake. Raiden hopped off my back & landed next to me. That was fun! Let’s do it again! Raiden shouted. Later. I smiled.

I grabbed a stick & made a fishing rod out of it then handed it to Raiden. Thanks but you don’t have a fishing rod. Raiden answered. Watch this. I said as I moved my tail in front of me. The end of my tail took the form of bait concealing a hidden hook. Now that is awesome. Raiden answered. Let’s fish now. I answered. I swung my tail into the lake while Raiden tossed the line.  We were fishing for a while. Raiden managed to catch some fish however I didn’t had any luck but I was waiting. Heh! I got more fish than you! Raiden answered. Something managed to bite my tail. Got it. I answered. Huh? Raiden asked. What I caught was big & was starting to pull me but I stood my ground. I began backing my tail trying to reel it in. Whatever I got was big. You won’t get away from me! I roared as I swing my tail back almost pulling out whatever bit me into the air. I reeled in a huge 100 ft tall blue fish with crab or lobster like pincers for side fins. Whoa. Raiden answered surprised. I reeled in a Pincer Fish. The fish was flopping around but my tail began to conduct electricity & stunned it. I pulled my tail out of the fish’s mouth as its body was paralyzed while my tail returned to normal. What is that thing? That fish has lobster claws. Raiden asked.

That’s a Pincer Fish. It’s a rare fish found in center water filled areas. This one is a rare find especially being here. I answered. However our conservation was interrupted when we heard a huge roar & huge bird like shadow flew over our heads. Looks like we got company. I answered. Then a 120 ft bird with red, green & brown feathers, huge claws, yellow eyes, & five tails flew down in front of the fish. What is that?! Raiden asked. It’s a Five Tailed Eagle. Another rare creature not found here either. I answered. The Eagle wanted the fish by the looks of it. I looked into its eyes as it looked back at mine. 5 seconds later I took my new sword out. With one strike I sliced the Pincer Fish in half with incredible speed. Here. You can have it. I answered as I pushed the bottom half of the fish to the 5 Tailed Eagle. The Eagle thanked me, took the bottom half of the fish & flew off.

Why did you give it that part of the fish? Raiden asked. I don’t need to do any unnecessary killing. Plus that was a female 5 Tailed Eagle who must have laid her eggs some time ago. I sensed she had trouble hunting so I gave her half the fish. Plus I can’t eat all of the fish by myself even with your help. I explained. Momma Geri, you’re a good person. Raiden answered. ! I thought. I was surprised to hear Raiden call me his mother even though the current form I was in didn’t look very nice. He was something else. I just smiled. Let’s go have us some fish. I answered. Meanwhile back at the warehouse…

(Jak’s point of view)
Almost everyone was in a panic. We tried to get any information from Seigen about Geri’s nightmare but Geri never told him what it was about but he did hear Geri say something. “Something is wrong with the Darkness.” Is what Geri whispered under her breath. He didn’t hear anything else from her. This mystery has gotten me very worried. Even Dark Jak was worried which is new. He is usual insulting me or being tricky but he must have feelings for Geri’s Dark side however I never asked him about it even though most of the time he tries to trick me. We were pacing back in the warehouse until Torn decided to confess. So before Geri disappeared she had a nightmare. The only thing we know about is that she said something is wrong with the darkness. What does she mean by that? Daxter asked.

I think she means her Dark side. She was acting weird yesterday. I answered. I checked her Dark side. I sensed nothing wrong with her. It has to be something else. SonicAsura answered. This is my fault. Torn answered. Huh? We asked. Yesterday I assigned Geri a midnight mission to infiltrate the Palace & retrieve some files for me without knowing she would end up disappearing. Torn explained. I immediately lost it as Dark Jak came out. I ran straight towards Torn slamming him into the wall & lifted him up until he was off his feet. WHY DID YOU ASSIGN HER THAT MISSION KNOWING HOW MUCH DANGER SHE WOULD BE PUT INTO OR THE FACT SHE WOULD DISAPPEAR!!!!? Dark Jak roared in fury. Jak! Calm down! Melody shouted. You know how I was created!? I was locked up in a torture chamber & been painfully injected with Dark Eco for two years in that H*** hole of a prison! What do you think they would do to her if they caught her?! Dark Jak roared.

I understand your fury but she accepted the mission by her own decision. Not mine. She didn’t want to tell you because she didn’t want you in harm’s way. Torn explained however Dark Jak didn’t let go. SonicAsura immediately stepped behind me. JAK! Let go of him or I’ll make you. SonicAsura answered. I turned my head to SonicAsura. Her eyes changed into pure red demon like eyes. I could sense of all her rage being stabbed into me. Dark Jak let go of Torn as he stepped back. SonicAsura’s returned to its purple color. If anything bad happened to Geri not just disappearing, I’ll rip you to shreds without showing any mercy. Dark Jak answered as I returned to normal. Let’s go search for her. Check the sewers, mountains & Pumping Station. There has been strange activity happening in these locations. It might lead to her. Torn answered. We all spilt up & looked all over the 3 areas until night. There was no sight of her. Night came & our efforts ended up being wasted. We all called it a night. That night when I returned to my apartment however I couldn’t sleep.

I was worried about Geri. I laid there in my bed hoping she wasn’t being experimented on. Facing that same torture that created my Dark Side but also leaving only an empty shell of the person I used to be. That kind muted kid who wouldn’t mind lending a hand to anyone who needed it without a Dark side to actually haunt my existence or my choices. Because of Praxis I lost myself. Then Geri came. Even though she had a Dark side she actually coexisted with it. Her friends told me she became friends with her darkness but also something else. Before Geri’s dark side she was treated like the plague when she was young. She had something more dangerous than her dark side in her but she befriended it too. No matter what happened she kept moving on. She also began to bring back the me I lost so long ago. She was someone that could bring back the life people lost even make her enemies her friends. If she was lost then everyone & everything would disappear even me. That was something I couldn’t bare not even my Dark side could. Geri. I will find you. I answered. Back at Haven Forest…

(Geri’s point of view)
Raiden & I were staying at a cave on a different side of the forest. We had our share of excitement & thrills but I was worried. Raiden was sleeping peacefully next to me covered by wing. I was looking at the stars through the hole in the roof. I was worried about my friends. I could feel my friends are worried about me since I left without telling them what I was doing but also worried about the ones who are still lost especially about “him”. The one who still accepts me no matter what happens. I was also worried about something new. It was Raiden. I’m afraid that he would be put in serious danger if he stays with me. The Krimzon Guards is still looking for me more than ever & Raiden might end up losing his life because of it. My friends…Please be okay & Raiden please forgive me for what happens. I whispered as I fell asleep. Morning came & Raiden awakened to an unpleasant surprise. *yawn* Good morning Mom…ma? Raiden asked. I was gone. Geri? Where are you? Are you playing a joke on me? Raiden asked as he searched the cave but I wasn’t in sight.

Geri? GERI! Raiden shouted. Raiden ran off deeper into the forest searching for me. He searched high & low but couldn’t find me. Momma! Where are you?! Raiden shouted. I didn’t respond. Please! I’m scared! I’m alone & I don’t have anyone to depend on. You were kind & accepted me. All the fun we had & you leave!? Why? Are you afraid? Something has gotten you scared. Is that why you left me? You can face things alone! We can face them together! Please. I need you. Raiden explained. Raiden ran into something hard & fell back on his feet. He looked up & there was trouble. It was a huge group of Krimzon Guards. 30 in total led by Erol & Praxis but Praxis also came armed. He was piloting a red cockpit like ship armed with guns. ! Raiden thought. What do we got here? One of the guards asked as he picked up Raiden by his vest. Let go of me! Raiden shouted as he tried to kick free by the guard kept his distance. What do you know? It talks! The guard shouted as he threw Raiden to the ground. He put his foot on Raiden’s chest & pointed his gun at him.

Maybe this thing might know where our Dark Warrior is. Erol answered. Alright fur ball. You tell us where our demonic friend is before we torture you for the answers. The guard threatened. I don’t know what you’re talking about! Raiden shouted. Geri Draco Akamishi! Where is Geri Draco Akamishi!? The guard roared as he slammed his foot down harder. Something clicked into Raiden’s mind. His body suddenly released an electrical burst sending the guard flying off him. What was that? Raiden asked as he managed to sit up. I won’t let you harm anyone for your own personal gain! I will stop you! Raiden shouted as he got up.  You made a grave mistake! We are going to beat the answers out of you! The guards roared as they charged at him. Something happened. ROOOOAR!!!!! Something roared. Something flew into the guards sending them all falling at supersonic speed. !!! Everyone thought. A huge shadow like figure emerged in front of Raiden. What in the world!? Erol shouted. The identity revealed that it was me wielding my sword.

If you dare harm Raiden I will rip you to shreds. I answered. Geri!! You came back! Raiden shouted. I explained. Found you at last! I knew that Shadow Crystal was going to produce good results but this is way better than I suspected! A powerful soldier able to defeat their enemies with one strike also possessing unbelievable speed & power making it harder to be defeated all packed into one person. You. I’ll take you & bestow this power to my soldiers making me invincible & no one can stop me! Praxis roared. I left to protect you but I never wanted to bring you harm for being with me. You made me remember I need help & can’t do anything on my own. Sorry for the pain I brought but I’m going to make it up for you starting by beating these Krimzon Guards punks to a pulp. I explained.

Let’s see if you can handle my new mech! Crimson Stalker appear! Praxis shouted as a huge 150 ft black & red headless assassin like robot with scarlet blades on its arms, black blades on its back along with silver dragon wings, a yellow KG symbol, razor sharp claws & talons made out of blades armed with cannons on its shoulders. The Baron’s ship landed on where the head was supposed to be as it merged with Crimson Stalker allowing Praxis to control it. Leave him to me. I answered. Go get him! Raiden shouted. Praxis charged straight towards me. I jumped very high into the air & grabbed Crimson Stalker’s left arm stopping his charge. HA!!!! I shouted as I began tossing Stalker back in forth slamming it into the ground repeatedly. Why you! Praxis shouted as he managed to break free in mid air. Take this!! He roared as he fired a barrage of missiles at me Sonic Slash. I said as I flew past the missiles as they were sliced in half before they exploded. !! Erol & Praxis thought.

Morph Muramasunazul(ancient translation Screaming Transdragon) Raigu. I said as my blade transformed into a black demonic dragon like bow the same size as its blade form. Daisugamaka. I said as I fired a barrage of huge dark energy arrows created by Raigu. The arrows pierced Stalker doing major damage before they disappeared. My weapon returned to its normal state as I appeared behind Praxis. Gum Gum Dark Pistol!! I roared as fierce dark energy enveloped my hand as I slingshot my arm into Stalker stretching until it sent Stalker into the ground. My arm returned to me as I landed on the ground. She’s too powerful to fight head on. But he’s not. Praxis answered as he faced Raiden. Can you dodge these?! Praxis shouted as he fired a barrage of heat seeking missiles at me. I took flight & began taking evasive action but it was all a diversion. Say goodbye! Praxis shouted as he fired a missile straight at Raiden. Raiden!! I shouted as I dived straight towards Raiden but the missiles were catching up to me.

Raiden tried to run but the missile was getting close. I went at full speed managing to make the heat seekers destroy themselves however the missiles crashed into the ground creating a huge explosion & Raiden was caught in the blast. RAIDEN!! I shouted. Raiden appeared. He was badly hurt & part of his arms & legs were burned. I flew down straight to Raiden & picked him up. Raiden! Raiden! Speak to me! I shouted. *cough* Momma? Raiden asked. I’ll rip them to shreds for doing this to you! I roared. Don’t…Don’t lose yourself in your rage…Don’t worry about me but please… Stop them…I’m counting on you…Raiden answered as he pass out. I laid Raiden gently on the ground & faced Praxis with complete fury. How dare you harm an innocent kid for your own gain?! I roared. I’ll kill anyone who gets in my way! Kid or not. Praxis answered. I finally snapped.

I won’t let you get away with this!!! I roared as a fierce dark aura began to envelop me. In the name of those you harm or kill. I’M GOING TO BE THE END OF YOU!!!!!! I roared as a huge dark energy pillar erupted from my body. I began to transform again. My skin turned to a little tint of purple white, my hair turned white & went into a frenzy, my nails became long black claws, my wings became silver bladed, my size increased until I was 200 ft tall, my muscular density slightly increased too, 6 black horns came out of the mass of white hair, 3 black spikes emerged on my knuckles & my eyes became black with red iris. The black pillar vanished as I fully transformed. Roar! I’m going to crush you!! I howled in rage. So this is the state she was in when she escaped. Erol answered. Let’s see you try! Praxis shouted. I suddenly disappeared & appeared behind Praxis. Too slow! Nightmare Slash!!! I roared as I delivered a powerful dark energy slash sending Stalker flying but also tearing apart its wings. I leaped & soar into the air at unbelievable speed.

Nightmare Wing Blade!!! I shouted as a powerful darkness enveloped my wings. I sliced Stalker’s left arm & cannons off before it could even react using my wings. She’s too fast! Can you dodge this?! Praxis roared as he fired a barrage of missiles at me. I sheathed my blade as all of the missiles were cut in half & destroyed. I emerged above Praxis. A powerful shadow like dark dragon enveloped my body. Ultimate Move: Nightmare Dragon’s Chaos…I answered as 6 spheres of purple lightning surrounded Stalker zapping it. I flew straight towards Praxis at unbelievable speed while Erol retreated. Cyclone!!! I roared as I began spinning around Stalker at unbelievable speed creating a gigantic black & purple lightning tornado. Praxis escaped Stalker through the cockpit ship of his. The tornado began slicing Stalker to pieces destroying the scattering parts as well. I stopped until Stalker was completely destroyed but also crash landed next to Raiden.

I began to shrink until I returned to normal. I was exhausted & was running low on energy. I faced Raiden. He was badly injured & his pulse was failing. Light…If you hear me then please…lend me your power…I answered. My hands began to glow as they turned a glowing light blue. Don’t die on me Raiden…I answered as I placed my hands on Raiden’s body. His burns & wounds faded away like they never existed as his pulse returned. My hands returned to normal. I…saved…you but I must get you to…safety. I answered weak. I carefully picked up Raiden & carried him on my back then walked. I kept walking to the forest’s exit until I caught something off in the distance. It was Jak. Jak noticed me from far. Geri!? You guys! I found Geri! Jak shouted as he ran to me. We’re saved…I answered as I passed out on the ground. I woke up back at the warehouse with the others but at a different room & with Jak sitting at my bed. …Urgh…I answered as I woke up. Geri! You’re okay! Jak shouted. Jak?...I’m back at the warehouse…? ! Raiden! I shouted.

You’re talking about the kid you were carrying on your back? He’s okay. Jak answered as he pointed at the bed with Raiden sleeping in it. I got out of bed & walked to Raiden. Raiden…Wake up…I whispered. …Huh? Raiden asked as he opened his eyes & sat up. He faced me & stared for a minute so did I. ! Geri? Is that you? Raiden asked. It’s me Raiden. I answered. Raiden immediately hugged me & cried. You’re okay! I was so worried about you! Don’t ever leave me again like that! Raiden cried. I won’t. You can count on that. Welcome to the team. I answered. Raiden stopped crying & smiled. Raiden saved me from my own destruction but I couldn’t tell the others about my Nightmare form yet. Raiden & I kept it a secret until it was time to tell them. However there was more to Raiden then we thought. That doesn’t mean Praxis wasn’t going to back down from capturing me again but I won’t be an easy target anymore not after I found out about him but we need to hit him at his home base & there is a person that might help us on that & we need to find her. But our next mission was the key.
